Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, struggling with your mental health, facing a difficult situation, or just need someone to talk to, help is out there. This post is here to connect you with important helplines and resources—places where you can find advice, support, and a listening ear. You are not alone, and there are people who care and want to help. Keep reading to find the right support for you or someone you know.


  • Kooth – https://www.kooth.com

    Free, safe, and anonymous mental health support. Whatever you’re feeling, they’re here to help.


  • The Mix – https://www.themix.org.uk

    Support for young people on anything from mental health to money, relationships, jobs, and more. Chat online, on social, or access free counselling.


  • Papyrus – https://www.papyrus-uk.org

    Help for young people struggling with thoughts of suicide. Their HOPELINE247 - 0800 068 4141 is open 24/7 for confidential support.


  • Bereavement Trust Helpline - provides the opportunity to talk to a trained volunteer about a bereavement of any kind. www.cruse.org.uk. You can call for free on 0808 808 1677.


  • Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide - support for adults who have been bereaved by suicide. Call for support 0300 111 5065, the Support Line is open everyday 9am-7pm. https://uksobs.com.


  • Grief Encounter - provider of support services for bereaved children and their families throughout the UK in order to help children find ways out of the abyss of grief. Their site has sections for children and young adults. https://www.griefencounter.org.uk. For support, call 0808 802 0111, Weekdays 9:30am-3pm.



  • Child Bereavement UK - supports families and educates professionals when a child dies or is dying or when a child is facing bereavement. Young people can contact them confidentially by phone on 0800 02 888 40 or email them.


  • Drugfam - offers support when bereaved through drug or alcohol misuse. 0300 888 3853.



  • Hope Again - A Cruse Bereavement Care site that was set up by young people. Young people can email for support, and the site also makes suggestions about helpful activities/strategies that young people who are bereaved may find helpful. https://www.hopeagain.org.uk. 0808 808 1677.


  • Winston's Wish - the leading childhood bereavement charity and the largest provider of services to bereaved families in the UK. They have specialist expertise in supporting children bereaved by suicide and they also have a site for young people. https://winstonswish.org. Call our Freephone Helpline on 08088 020 021.



  • Childline - a private and confidential service for children and young people up to the age of nineteen. You can contact a Childline counsellor about anything - no problem is too big or too small. Call them free on 0800 111, have a 1-2-1 chat online or send an email. https://www.childline.org.uk.
