During the Spring Term, our youth club has continued to provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging space for young people across a range of year groups. Weekly sessions were delivered for Year 6, Year 7, Year 8, and Year 9, as well as sessions for young people from DT2 postcodes, our Gypsy, Romany, Traveller sessions and Saturday Club for young people with Special Educational Needs.
Each group has benefited from age-appropriate activities designed to promote personal development, build confidence, and encourage positive peer relationships. Highlights of the term include energetic boxing sessions delivered by an external provider, a variety of cooking sessions (including pizza making and pancakes) and relaxed film nights that offered opportunities for social connection.
We also hosted competitive pool tournaments arranged by the young people which helped to foster teamwork and friendly rivalry. The term concluded with a fantastic Easter Family Fun Day, bringing together young people, their families, and the wider community. The feedback from both young people and their families has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the value of the club in providing consistency, structure, and fun outside of school hours.
As we move into the summer term, we look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to support the growth and development of our young people.
